Snatch Block vs. Pulley Block

Recently put a winch on my ride and was looking at accessory tackle for different types of pull. I'm a little confused about the difference between a snatch block and a pulley block. Looks like I could accomplish the same thing with either but the snatch block seems to be significantly more expensive. What's the difference?

they are the same thing, both a single pulley that doubles your pulling power and also the line speed...

depending on what you are looking at, Warn always calls theirs the 'snatch block'...make sure you get one that is for an ATV and the smaller cable...the best thing to buy is the kit that comes with the snatch block, tree saver strap and shackles...

here is a good kit on ebay:

I've seen the Warn kit and found another one at Cabelas with a pulley

Do you think the Warn Snatch block would work better than this pulley option? Seems to me that the hook would make it easier to use.

Thanks for the help......

I wouldn't use that Cabela's kit if you gave it to me, too cheaply made. The size of the pulley is a real problem, as the cable will be a problem turning that tight around that small pulley. Also, the tree strap and shackles that come with the Warn are first rate....I can attest to it, I have a kit in my front storage on my ATV....
