I would like to take the choke apart to clean it but was confused this past weekend. There is the small longer brass bolt that screws into the bigger one which attaches directly to the carb. The plunger is obviosly inside the bigger brass nut attached to the carb but is that the one you have to unscrew to clean out the plunger?? I was under the impression that the small/narrow brass bolt (or what ever you want to call it) with the cable going through it was the one you could unscrew to get the pluger out? I couldnt get mine out and just spayed cleaner in there but to get the big brass nut attached to the carb off you would have to remove the throttle cable because I am not able to get to it attached which sucks? Can someone clear this inexpereince up for me with regards to cleaning/removal etc? Hope my rambling make sense. Much appreciated! Thanks.

Yeah I have done that a couple times and have read through everything and was just hoping to get more specific with which one of those brass nuts comes off becuase I thought it was the smaller narrow one. I has to be the bigger one just haven't had a chance to try. I really get nervous messing with the carb and if I have to take the throttle cable off that is somethign I haven't done before and worry about the reinstall thats why I was looking for more direction. All the info says to clean the choke plunger but now really direction on how to get it off. Probably becuase its really easy and I really stupid haha!! Thanks

Very frustrated when I went to start my Pred today and almost killed the battery. I just got my wheeler back from a valve adjustment the middle of Nov and then winterized it until I would have a chance to ride this winter. Once I got it running all was good and ran fine. I am questioning my choke as it doesn't run a high RPM's like it should once I started it. Had to stay on the gas until warm. Granted when I winterized it ran the gas out of carb float and ran the Pred with the gas off til it died so can see it taking a while for the gas to get in there but dont remember it being this freaking bad. My idol was really high to for some reason and turned that down. What the hell can you do to get these things to start better in the cold?? Or Is there something else wrong? I have it jetted one size up from stock but wondering about going higher to a 160?? My valves where recently adjusted so wondering if they did a **** job?? Any insight on this would be much appreciated. Thanks.
