My muffler came with a tip configuration I have not seen before, (I have had several, most recently for my 400EX-traded for my Predator). It has 8 discs but instead of an endcap, it has an oval opening with about a 1.5 inch pipe mounted inside with a cone which has multiple perforations around it. I am used to a flat end cap. Has anybody seen this tip? Did it come from Polaris this way or did the dealer do this? They claim that that is the way it came to them. Any imput appreciated. This configuration looks to be a little more free flowing than a flat end cap but it doesn't sound as good. What tip configuration did everone else get?

This is the quiet core spark arrestor plate I believe, and in the instruction booklet that came with WB pipe, it says to mount the Q-core up front of all the disks, then the disks, then the solid end cap I think........don't have the manual in front of me...

You shouldn't be running it open ended with that as the end cap...

I don't run mine, but may have to at the Oregon dunes where they're pretty tight on 92-93 dB noise limits.

For what (little) it's worth, that Dirt Wheels article that featured Daryl Rath's Predator showed it with the quiet core tip on in place of the discs and endcap. Very weird.

Thanks for the info. I need to get the instruction booklet that my dealer forgot to give to me when they delivered the quad. I talked to Daryl Rath yesterday- his pictures show the Pro Meg (open) tip. On another note- I went to the White Bros website and tried to open their catalog. I got a blank screen with a small colored logo in the top left corner- no catalog. What's up with that?

The Pure Polaris pipe is basically a White Brothers e-Series pipe. It is very definitely louder than stock, but far from obnoxious. It's worth a good 5 hp at the wheels.

Highly recommended.

I have a white brothers slip on, K&N Slip on and running a 175 main jet. Anyone else using the K&N slip on?

Hi PredatorNOS500,

I have just installed a DynoJet jet kit and a slip-on K&N filter, # RU-1770. I also have a W/B slip-on, and with this jetting/filter set-up, I will be using 8 discs and the USFS block plate.

I haven't had a chance to run it up yet, but I will on Friday..I'll post the results then....

You can get the 1770 from K&N, or places like Hot Seat. I would strongly suggest getting the water resistant Outerwear if you go that route. Six of the 1" diameter Uni-vents for $9.95 are also a great addition to the stock airbox (with the drop in K&N)

Hi everyone,

I was checking out another site somewhere and I found a link to a spot that shows the new FMF exhaust system for our Predators...It looked pretty nice, but there are no details posted yet...I may call FMF tomorrow and find out some scoop.

On my first quad, an 89 Honda 250R...many years ago!!!, the FMF pie I got was about the best thing out then then...quality wise...

Anyway, just FYI.....

Oh... the link is "atvparts.biz/page33/html"
