So far I've done the following: HMF silencer, Uni Filter, 167.5 main/50 pilot jet, Rath Racing air scoops, AC Racing front bumper, PRM rear bumper, Trailtech X-bars and clamp, Motion Pro Twist throttle, MSR Aluminum clutch perch/levers, AC Racing Pro Peg Nerf Bars, King Turbo paddles, Sprocket Specialists 13t c/s sprocket, Revalved Fox Shox, LED brake light, Blue tinted headlight lens', Shockwearz, thermostat mod, CFM cooler, Jettrim Seat and a few other things to come.
Well if we tell you what all is done then it wouldn't be a secret anymore. And alot of the guys I ride with read these posts. So not that this is what has been done to mine but I think the following mods would help the Predator out, everything below is available:
13/38 spockets (www.sprocketspecialists.com), Full pipe system Trinity IV (trinityracing.com), or Prower Pros full pipe system (thepowerpros.com), Vortex CDI (a must)(http://www.vortex-performance.com.au/products.htm), Air box mods K&N drop in(uni vents an re-jet depending on Alt. where you ride don't waste your money on the air force kit) Web Cams 432 lift int. & ex. @ .050 238 duration (have to send your cores for welding and grinding), Get rid of the CV carb.(another must this is an easy 4-5 HP increase by itself) call Sudco (www.sudco.com)for a carb. If you're willing to run race gas higher compession piston. Port the head, but only if you trust the shop doing it. And run water wetter and get some scoops. Front reservoirs. Get straight cut paddles (Haulers)
Trailtech Xbars, clamp and computer take your pick of bunmpers, grab bars and nerfs, just about every company is offering these for the Predator.
hey, pismo, i checked out sudco , i dont see a predator carb on there, i am going to call them but its sunday, but i am just wondering what kind of company they are, i have never heard of them, i know edelbrock but i am sick of waiting for that carb to come out, and since my predator is torn apart right now for a big bore kit this would be a nice time for a carb, are aftermarket carbs easier to rejet? that is one reason i was waiting for the edelbrock,no jetting ,just turn some screws on the outside or something
i wonder what my horsepower will be with the carb,porting,530 big bore kit,11:1 piston,w/b pipe, and either an airbox mod or k&n clamp on?
i have all that except the carb, so do you think its worth it to order a carb now or wait until a few more come out?
what the heck? i saw only one response from me,then later i saw two,now there is like four or five of the same posts, , i wonder, i have been reloading this page,so i bet it reloads my reply and adds it again, i'll try and delete these, sorry about this
So far I have added a Big Gun exhaust system, 155 main jet, K&N drop in, PRM front bumper & six-pak rack, Pro Armor nerfs, A-arm guards, swingarm skid plate, Trailtech mount and bars, homemade overflow bottle bar guard & homemade radiator scoops. The bars are going to be replaced with Tag T2 banshee bend bars. The trailtech are too low & too straight for me.
Hey Swenjj Sudco has been around a long time. Many of the high performance shops get their carbs from them. You can save a few bucks by ordering directly from Sudco. They do not have a Predator carb kit listed on the web site but don't let stop you with a little work you can make a different carb work. Go to products link and click on Keihin carbs and then Mikuni carbs to see what they have to offer. If you know what you want order away or if not the best bet is to call, tell them what you are looking for and they can recommend a carb. they may even now have a Predator kit so you may not have to do any mods. to make the carb work. As for the ease of re-jetting changing jets is about the same on all carbs. Unless the carb has a jet access in the bottom of the float bowl, those carbs are alittle easier. As for waiting for a carb I'm not one to wait, Edelbrock's is said to be very trick but you'll have to wait until Aug or Sept. The stock Carb is a POS, with all that you are doing you would likely really benefit from a different carb. but be prepared to spend a few weekends dialing it in. If you're not good with that then wait until someone has a ready made kit for the Predator, ie.. install and go. Take care and have fun.
Pismo Beach where and who ports your head? Did you go with bigger valves and high compression pistons also?? I don`t have my Pred yet but its in the works..I was thinking of Four Stroke Tech to do the work when I do for mx/flattrack racing.Race gas is not a issue with me ,I use it in my Duncan Banshee VP-C12 55gallon barrel...Have fun
