I took the heal guards off. No good, the fenders were then too flimsy. Lose the tool kit under the seat. Take the headlites and brake light out. Remove the brake light switch from the rear brake lever. Use titanium bolts. Get a lighter set of tires.

There are many ways to get rid of unwanted weight, you just have to be a little inventive. Good luck and let us know what you take off. :)

Replace as many parts as you can with aluminum or other lighter materials vs. steel. Bars, bumper, grab bar, exhaust, rear brake pedal, swingarm would be a biggy, lighter tires etc.

There are lots of places where weight could be saved but it'd get costly. A lot of good ideas have already been posted, but here are some of my observations:

The handlebars are heavy and steel. Aluminum ones would be much lighter. The Trail Tech Dashboard is heavy, so I'd avoid using it... just get some Renthal bars or something.

The front control arms are probably steel... once the aftermarket gets some aluminum ones out, that'll be a way to save a few pounds (though probably expensive).

A titanium exhaust if anybody will make one.

The rear grab bar is a good one. I have PRM's smallest bar and I think it is a bit lighter. Heck, you might not even NEED the grab bar...

What would be really cool is if somebody would take the time to document how weight could be saved. Then we could all do as much as we could afford. :)

It's just a little "customizing" metamorphosis that took place out in the laboratory. There's a few more carbon lay-ups I need to finish, and I'm waiting on another company for a special appearance coating. :D
