I hate them, with a twist throttle it is too hard for me to ride aggresively, I always seem to have problems keeping it steady through whoops or in corners when leaning at all. Some people will not use anything but a twist throttle, it's just your preference.

Im using a twist throttle right now. On a big weekend I'll go out with a twist throttle because its just easier for me to ride with a twist throttle through whoops, shoot up the hill and drags, but on a regular dune trip I'll put on the stock thumb throttle because like RNGMSTR says it is hard to ride aggresively. Overall I would probably use the thumb throttle. Anything is easier to ride with a thumb throttle. I wouldnt suggest using a twist throttle to any newbie. The risk of getting hurt is a lot higher IMHO w/ a twist. If you are hammering it through the whoops you tend the jerk your wrist back and forth and if you were to slide off the back of your quad you would end up twisting back on the handlebars for grip and instead twist the throttle back to make the quad shoot out from under you vs. were a thumb throttle the grip doesnt move so you have a better chance from stuff like that happening and if something unexpected were to happen you can always let off the throttle and just hang on the the bars but you wouldnt be able to do that with the twist unless you have your wrist cracked forwards to prevent it from going back.

It's all preference. If you are used to riding motorcycles you will probably prefer a twist. If you like the thumb throttle then keep it.

I am running a Motion Pro twist throttle. I do not like thumb throttles. I ride bikes and atvs. I find hard to hold on without my thumb around the grip.
