Did the black plastic turn white or discolor in any way if you rolled it or took a tumble?
I'd be leary of trying to buff out any scratches with the shiny metallic flakes.
Note on the bottom underside of your fender plastic, its not the same gloss and sparkles as the top side, so its a type of clear coat on the upper appearance surfaces.....
Don't worry about the scratches, call it Woods Pin-stripping!
