I've been pondering the idea for awhile now and after the other night, i think im going to do it. last week at the local flat track, i watched a friend of mine with a virtually stock raptor (lowering kit and hoosiers) beat a guy that went undefeated last year. the only reason my friend won was because he was getting the holeshot and then doing a good job of blocking, but the guy he beat does the very same thing, so i guess fair is fair. what i am wondering is if any of you have any suggestions on what kind of setups i should use?

the track is 1/8 mile of clay.

Oh...your gonna love it!!!!! Ive not done anything to the Predator for flattrack yet, I just bought a set of tires for the rear to race with and honda bolt parrern hubs and Burgard beadlocks for the rears so far,but my 400ex is almost set up now Will be ready in about another 10 days or so.How much you wanting to spend?Do you know what kind of set ups everyone is using??Its hard to say what to use cause all tracks are different, talk to others at your track an compare to what they run on .you want low, wide, and sway bar for sure. You can adjust your quad to lower with your shocks, and tires are a BIG part of the set up too.Steering stabilizer is good in the future if you decide to do this permantly,I know I want one..PSI is important on the track too.Hopes tihs helps..TINA

thanks for the reply. i have never flat tracked on an official track, but a bunch of friends and i have a flat track in a field that is camparible to our local track (minus the clay). i love it. i cant wait to get started. i think im going to start out with just the hoosiers and go from there. im going to try both of my quads and see which one becomes the flat tracker and which one stays the woods rider.
