I want to know what difference is there between changing the front sprocket from stock 14T to 13T and changing the rear sprocket to a 38T? What will I notice different with just changing the front sprocket to 13T? What will the difference be with changing both sprockets at the same time to 13/38? Thanks for the input. Crypto

In my OPINION, using the 13t front sprocket is useless, I tried it in the dunes and had the 14t back on within 15 minutes, it simply revs too fast with it. I had a couple 38t rear sprockets, but sold them before I tried them because I wa happy with the stock gearing, I understand that every riding condition has a better optimal gearing ratio, but I feel that a 14t front and 36t rear is the best choice for my mods and riding areas. One tooth difference on the front sprocket is very close to 3 teeth difference on the rear sprocket.

13/37 is the same ratio as 14/40

That means that 14/38 is only 1/3 as low as 13/37 compared to stock. The lower you go the faster it revs and more power you feel, but you loose some top speed. I have 13/37 gearing and LOVE it, at first I thought it might be too low but I have ridden very tight trails and some very open trails and it works great.
