Is this area open for riding year round? What is it like in November for weather and riding conditions? I farm here in the Boise, Idaho area and I don't have much time for playing until Novwmber to February...the winter months. The St. Anthony dunes are great but the best areas in them are close to riding ATV's from Nov. 1st to April 1st due to Elk winter habitat.
I was at Sand mountain last weekend... It's a blast, You can drag race up the main face of the mountain, go to the riders memorial if you are into fast pace hill climbing, ride the dunes if you like to jump, or go to the back side of the mountain and go down the trails if you are into trail riding. The mountian is not huge, but not small either.... Unless you compare it to Glamis.... then it's a little small
Just for your info. I don't remember where I read it, newspaper here or the net. But it was in the last two weeks. BLM is start to ticket people that ride off the trail. So watch it and don't give them ammo to close it. Play there game.
Thats ok just stay on the trails and there isn't going to be a problem.
