Finally had a chance to finish the "heads-up tach" for the Predator. To refresh memories, it has 13,000 rpm capabilities, peak rpm memory, adjustable LED indicated shift point, along with a full digital readout. The tach readout is very fast and accurate. I'll be finalizing the mounting bracket in the morning, and they should be ready to ship later this week. The price should be just a bit over $100. The current unit has been through 2 harescrambles, and a ton of other "abuse", never missed a beat.

I want to get some night action shots to highlight the display. I'll get them on the website soon.....Soooo many articles to write, and machines to modify, but man is this fun! :D

I think I'm finalizing them at $115 each. I'll check on shipping, but that shouldn't be more than $4 or $5. I'm gonna sell them with the factory bracket, since getting one manufactured would really drive the cost up, and most people have their own wants and ideas on how to mount them. I'll provide a couple of ideas on the website. Like I stated before, the unit registers up to 13,000 rpm. Has a max rpm memory. Multi LED programable shift indicator. Presently, I'm moving mine from the bars to a custom mount just forward of the Trail Tech computer. This will be a point where the shift indication will be viewable in my peripheral vision. The LED's are amber, units with Red or Blue LED's will be available, but they will cost more. My price is the lowest that the supplier will allow me, or anyone else to sell them. Hopefully in (yes another week) I should have the first batch in hand. Thanks a ton for the patience. It's been a very busy summer, but also lot's of fun. :D

How easy is the tach to hook up Ken?

It's only 3 wires. I'll diagram, and document it to make it very, very easy. I don't know if I said it before, but to keep people's costs down, I'm ixnaying the custom bracket...everyone around here wants beyond a custom price to stamp out 100 of them. My supplier should be getting back to me the beginning of this coming week..then we'll go from there.

That'll be up to peoples imagination. I am continually researching mounting ideas...and I do mean continually. Just back from the Oshkosh fly-in...climbed around all kinds of jets and prop-planes searching for something trick and durable. I might just end up posting a plan to make one off of.

Out of curiosity, is it possible just to rig up a light that lets you know when you hit the rev limiter ? If so, id definately be interested in that. Sometimes with the engine noise and the exhaust and all the other bikes its just hard to tell.

Better yet, this tach lets you pre-program the LED indication, so it illuminates just prior to the rev-limit....or anywhere you want to program it. That way, you don't loose the power. I should be able to finish pics tonight, and I'm waiting for the supplier to confirm stock on hand. I'll be bugging him in the morning. Thanks for your patience.

O.k. here's da scoop. My personal custom tach bracket is being welded tonight, I'll get it back around noon tomorrow. I'll make the plans available with tach purchase. My distributor has assured me that everything is ready to go, so other than a pic, this is the official release. It's gonna be a simple three wire hook up. As soon as I get the bracket, I'll be getting the pics and updating the website. Like I mentioned before, they're $115 each, with $5 shipping. I'll post when the pics have been updated. If people have any questions, feel free to e-mail me directly at [email protected]

Thanks again for incredible patience.
