Well I finally checked my Predator to see if I had the brake issue alot of others are having and wouldn't you know I spin the wheel hard and it stops after 1/3 of a revolution.

The dealer sad he never heard of this problem. Oh great! He said to try backing of the brake adjuster on the back of the Caliper to see if that would help. Either way I'm running out of time and I better not be without a machine for the 11th 12th and 13th of next month. I have been looking for this for too dang long!!!

I figure the brake issue is whats causing the rear to feel light and loose at higher top speeds when you accelerate.

They will also be looking at my Greese zert issue. LOL Yea I know easy fix but I'll let them do it for me.

2 weeks from Friday and I'll be in 7th heaven if my ATV is good to go.

Yup, my front brakes drag about the same as yours. I called my dealer and he also has not heard of it. Could anybody here who has had their brakes fixed sugest what we should tell our dealers? Such as, should I tell them to check the recall on the caliper bolts, replace the piston seals, master cylinder, etc. I will be bringing mine in next week and I want to give them as much info as I can to help them get it fixed and back in my possesion as quickly as possible. Thanks.

JSYI I will tell them ahead of time not to touch the brakes if they don't think they will have it done before the 10th. :) There is no way I'm going to miss out on that weekend. I haven't ridden it out of our yard since the first weekend in March!!!

12 days to go!!!! Woot Woot

Sunday will be drag racing, mud runs, atv pulls and I believe an obsticle course. :)

Mine had the brag drag issue and after trying a bunch of things they finally determined it was the piston seals. They were "swollen" and weren't allowing the piston to retract after you releasd the brake lever.

So they replaced the seals and everything has been fine since.

Well Tueday I got up early (Loaded up the Pred Monday) and drove to the dealers.

They pulled the shim and said that was all it was, then gave me the option of leaving them out or putting them back in and letting the pads wear down the thickness of the shim. I decided on wearing down the pads next weekend. :)

The zert was fixed by just threading in a new one.

And the good news!!! They replaced one of the stickers due to bubbling! Woot Woot The front of that sticker was a little messed up due to my roll in March so this saves me another $30 to $40!!! Woot Woot!! Yea OK so I'm happy now.

F'in polaris refuses to acknowledge that brake drag is a problem, they say its normal. They refuse to acknowledge that there are ANY known issues with the predator front brakes. My dealer says that they wont warranty any repairs, it sounds like if I push hard enough he might be willing to replace the seals and piston (they come as a kit) and get it covered under the warranty. Should I just ignore the drag which to me seems excessive?

I have taken my Predator into my dealer for the same problem. He told me that Polaris had never received any complaints about the brake drag. I told him about this web sight and that I was not the only one complaining. My dealer’s mechanic checked them out and told me that the drag was not normal. I really appreciated the mechanic going to bat for me. He called Polaris and told them that the brake drag was defiantly not normal. He is also ordering the piston kit to see if that fixes the problem. After the mechanic looked at the brakes he told me to take it home and not waste any riding time. He told me that he would call me when the kit arrived. I’m taking it in on Tuesday so ill let you know the outcome. Good luck.
