Just received this month's Dirt Wheels magazine where they review the Maxxis Rooster Paddle on the Predator. The review of the Predator on the Dunes was less than flatering. Said it bites in the sand too much on the turns. What do you Dune riders thinks?

I think Dirt Wheels is, as always, full of crap. From what I read, they complained that you can't powershift it, and that the transmission is too notchy. The truth is, you don't need to powershift it, and, until the machine has at least 30 hours on it, the transmission IS notchy. They aren't giving it a chance, which is typical.

As for bites too much in the turns? What the hell are they talking about? I run Dunetracker fronts on mine and LOVE them. It's the best way to make the machine turn in the sand. I don't like running knobbies in the sand because the front end feels too vague.

I'm about ready to cancel my DW subscription because of their crap. Polaris and Arctic Cat both can't seem to get a break from the magazines.

Talk about gay Dirt wheels, if you read the artical again you'll realize that they state that the predator has a high center of gravity, oh come on the z-400 has a higher center of gravity than the predator, plus they were comparing the predator to a modified 250r that basically drags on the ground they're so low. All they did was praise the 250r, which tells you that they are straight whooped on honda. Biased Biased Biased

Yeah, i found it really stupid..they say the raptor is too tall and tippy, yet the Pred is wider and lower then the Raptor, but its too tippy as well i guess..gezz, next to the DS650 or the Canadail moto (i think thats the one) , i dont think there is a wider stock quad! They say it just turns too well..WTF? what a bunch of tools!

Hmmm, Dirty Wheels has to compare a $20,000 custom race quad to a $6000 Predator to get something that matches up....Touche' Polaris, guess that's another feather in the hat.

Clown Wheels have always been asses and if you have ever been to any of their tests, it's always one ass that gets the bashing started. Polaris doesn't stand a chance with somebody who has so much bias against a manufacturer, I guess Polaris didn't send him on nice enough trips. Just my thoughts and opinion!

I think they are all crazy, my pred goes pretty **** good in the sand on the stock tires, takeoff is a bitch, but what can you expect for dirt tires in the sand. I couldnt imagine this thing in the sand with some paddles. The preadtor rips. The only thing that has kept up with me is a raptor and a vforce.

Just came back from a week in the dunes at Florence Ore. I thought my TLD handled like a slot car. I was running S.T.U. Razorbacks in front and Sand Skate2 son rear, but switched to a set of Geckos on rear partway thru the week. Quad was bone stock with a K&N direct mount air filter and 13t countershaft sprocket. Sand was fairly damp and heavy most of the week but the quad still handled better than anything I have taken down there before including Raptor, 250R, LT500 etc.
