Hey-
I am curious as to what are people's experience with the WBs (PurePolaris) pipe? I put it on and seem to be hitting the rev limiter way sooner than I should (excessive popping on top end), either that or its just not getting enough air, which is what I think is actaully happening. Daryl Rath (RathRacing) talks about cutting a 2x4 inch hole the airbox (was in a recent DirtWheels article) to increase airflow after installing the WBs pipe. I was really hesitant to start hacking the airbox, but after pulling the plug and seeing how rich it was running, I knew I had to do something. A fella on another forum ran across a K&N barrel filter that he claims fits under the seat in place of the airbox snorkel, this sounds like a good option, especially for the sand.
Now, what I decided to do... Thunder Products Inc. makes a product they call (strangely enough) the "TPI Valve", basically a flat "gate" style valve with some type of filter material in it. I decided to go with that instead of the K&N for now (will probably get K&N for first trip to dunes anyway). My plan is to add some Outerwears material to the TPI Valve for extra protection and install it in the back of the aibox below the existing filter.
I'll let everyone know how it turns out.
