Anyone read that article in Sept. Dirtwheels Mag about adding a Nitrous system to a Predator, looks like it adds almost 20 HP at high RPMs. Looks pretty cool for drag racing except have to find a way to concel the canister in the back so no one can see it. But the article goes on to say "The nitrous-equiped "stock" Predator could "NOW" easily beat Raptors and Banshees with minor modifications (likes pipes) installed on a 10 second run." Where do they come up with this stuff, it is so precise to cut down the predator against the yamaha's. I think we could beat them without anyway. Someties I wonder if Yamaha owns that mag. THey are all over the 450 yamaha again this month. What are they gonna do when Honda and Kawasaki and Polaris bring out their new 2004 sport race quads?

Talk more about how yamaha is good. I will be suprised if the new Honda (supposed to be released in September) is better than the yfz450 (according to them). I know this new Honda is going to blow us away. I hope it makes people forget about the 250r. I hope Honda puts a nice price tag on their new quad (not like the Yamaha). Anyone else hear anything about Hondas new quad.

I would use caution if you are thinking of adding nitrous. There is alot more to it than just bolting it on. I have yet to see an engine last very long on the stuff and when it blows it goes big!

Looking forward to he new honda as well. Always liked their quads.

nitrous will work, and work well, as long as you don't overdue it. As long as you build the rest of the motor to handle it. most of the horror stories you hear are from people trying to make a tremendous gain on an otherwise stock motor. people like the results and keep adding more until finally everything lets go, then it's the nitrous's fault???

I think the Nitro would be cool just to use once in a while to fool people when just out riding. You know someone who thinks their quad is all that. But you would have to be able to hide the tank. I think would be pretty funny the look in their face when you beet them b a long margin. Of course it would eventually burn out the motor, but would be fun fun fun.

That Dirtwheels needs some new writers, I can't beleive how petty they are to put such a comment in an article. TO be that specific of the conditions in a article about the predator. They either really suck at racing or I don't know. I can beat Raptors and Banshees with light mods already. I know it was a jab at the low end torque the pred doesn't have so much of, but that's really going out of their way to dis the predator in my book.

dirtwheels will always dis anything polaris puts out, always have and always will. maybe some of the other manufactures send a little more cash there way or something, but they just always have disliked polaris.

Nitrous Baby!! The article also said that the manufacturer also makes small canisters that will fit under the seat to hold the nitrous.

All I can say is.....400EX-Smoked, KFX400-Smoked, DS650-Smoked, Raptor-Smoked, Bring on the YFZ450 !!

Yea I read it again and saw that part. That would be a sweet setup against a YFZ. I'd love to see their face when the predator cleans their clock. And they couldn't see that you were running nitrous. I'd be laughing my ass off.

Not neccessarily Aussie, If I put the extra 1000 in to my predator and they are stock it would be interesting.

Hey im new to this site and im glad its here. I also think that dirt wheels cuts
polaris down and it could come from the late start of a nonjapanese company. I read the review in dirtwheels about the predator and then bought mine. I can honestly say that I never had a problem with shifting or speed shifting. After a good breakin ride everything seemed to get even smoother. I just got my new pure polaris (white brothers) slip on and a DG front bumper. Im having real fun with it so far. Im also thinkin about the boondocker bottle, since it seems safe enough. I have heard rumors about a predator 600, does anybody know about that? By the way im from lancaster California. not landscatter, Florida

yeh i thought that it was funny that they said extra hp. aggravated its cornering shifting problems i feel like the predator is the best cornering quad out there and i have never had a shifting problem and none of my friends have had any probs.I think dirtwheels is a comic book.

How dangerous is the boondocker kit for an engine? Like what risks are involved? Is there a danger of burning your piston or valves or anything else?
