does anyone know if they changed the transmission for the 2004 model to have smoother shifting? if so are we going to be able to update our 2003 models?

I believe the tranny is the same, I never had a problem with the 2003 trans, seems fine. a buddy of mine got his stuck in 4th, but other than that I have not had any complaints.

My dealer claims that the tranny will have some changes. I dont know if the gears wont be so "straight cut" or what but maybe it will cut out some of the notchiness.

Why would they or you want a (NEW) or different tranny in the Predator. This one is bullet. All I have heard if the forks have bent,(UNDER WFO & NO CLUCTH) If you drag race put a shift kit in it. If not, learn how to shift faster. Or better yet, Modquad has a fix for your shift time.

Polaris Had too many problems with the '03 tranny. They have changed the cluster for '04. That is supposed to fix the problems, that the speak very little about just like the broken frame problems, with the '03 tranny.

atenicole please sell you predator and dont by a new one I am tierd of hearing you cry I think you abuse your bike and just because you might have got a lemom does not mean they are all lemon's I have three pred's not one has a cracked frame or tranny problems. the only thing they have had was the sticking front brake. and on one pred it has a new frame not because it craked but because I crushed the whole frontend and the frame still was not cracked. the bikes are ridden hard and most of the guys riding them are better then 200lb. so once again sorry to here you got a lemon but stop crying.

You can kiss my but! What is the point of a forum if it is not talk about a machine, good or bad. Just because you ride your bikes like a pansy. Yes I like you push my machine hard, but that is noe excuse for a machine to be out of comission for three and a half months, I have owned it for four months. I also ride a cannondale Canable and have had no problems with it. Polaris customer service sucks as well as their R&D department. They remind me of the kids that went to school without their home work done. Broken frames bent shift forks are all signs of someone not doing their work right. Yes I know that it is a first year machine.

You want me to sell my machine then you buy it! It will not be ready untill the end of September. Contact my dealer because I will be in basic training.
