Hi, I've read all the threads on using the K&N clamp on and the jetting issues and still haven't felt like the consensus is that it's the right thing to do. I ride below 1000ft in CA all the time and wanted to know (Rob or anyone) if you feel that stock airbox with a K&N filter is better than the clamp on for now. The only reason I really want to do it is for looks and removing that big black box from the rear end but if I'm going to lose HP and spend all my time jetting then I'll wait for the right setup. Thanks! BTW I also will be running the WB slip on.

Do it, you'll love it. Thanks to Local Buzz for finding Hyper Racing. I would suggest running the WR125-6T Outerware with the slip-on. Rejet to a 165-170, and I would also suggest a 50 pilot jet.

I took mine off until I can build a velocity stack or something (turns out the local Honda dealer can get me one for $99 -- pass) because it just seemed to me like there was a bit of hesitation when you crack the throttle on it.

Try it and see what you think... it may work fine for you. Seems to be working good for others.

Thanks guys! I think I might. I did read one thread in which someone used their oval pipe with an oval filter as a phseudo stack. Is that what you mean? Should I try that first? Thanks again, and being new to this site I think it's great!!!

Hot Seat sells an oval K&N that retains the inlet air tube. On the slip-on, I stepped up to a 50 pilot and dropped the clip 1 notch on the needle...along with the 170 main.

Hey SoHong Im in Cali and I am using the clamp on K&N with 167.5 main and 50 pilot with a HMF silencer. Works awesome. But you should leave the airbox and turn it into an ice box or storage box:)
