Hello All,
Riding the logging trails and rough creekbeds, i notice that my steering shaft feels incredibly loose. I have inspected each bolt in the front end and have found no loose connections. The front steering bushing, (the thing that says PRO steering on it), has been replaced due to a stripped bolt in assembly. I have had the dealer check the ball joints out, and they said that the ball joints are in excellent condition, and are all the newer (sturdy) ball joints.
Nevertheless, i have a wobble in the steering shaft that only occurs when the tires are not on level terrain. I can have the bike sideways full out on flat lands and feel nothing, but as soon as i pick up a tire or drop a tire off level, i feel the wobble. I have inspected all the tie rods, a arms, and steering shaft and can find no play. I have done the ball joint check (trying to check the play in the wheels), and found nothing. My bike didnt feel this loose when i bought it. It has about 18 hours on it, pretty rough ones at that. Is this just normal wear, or do i really have a problem? I would like to have it fixed before my 6 mo warranty runs out.
Thanks
Jay Azevedo
