Sprocket Specialists makes the sprocket that all of us use. It's part number 564-13 and is made for the Honda XR650L dirt bike. Just find somebody who carries the brand and they can order it for you.

If that fails, call up Reno Motorsports at 775-322-1499 and order it from them because that's where I got mine. I'm sure they can ship it to you.

I want more low end without sacrificing much top end. So which sprocket would I need, the front or the rear or both? I seen where someone had the 13/39 combo. I'm in to doing more trail riding and hill climbing now and I think this will help my lower end. Any suggestions?

I've ordered a 13 and a 39 from Sprocket Specialists a few days ago. Hopefully they fit when they arrive.

If so, I think that oughtta give me just a little more top end after I put on the 22" rears. I'm not sure how that combo will hold up with the 20"s, though, but I'm gonna find out. :)

Will do, Tina. I just got the package today. I won't have a chance to do anything with the quad until this weekend, but I'll get back to you with that info after I attempt the install.

ADDITIONAL INFO:
The 13 tooth is part # 563--13. It lists the following bikes for use:

Honda
1989 NX-650
91-01 XR-650R
93-03 XR-650L

Polaris
2003 Predator 500

Hey Tina,

Sorry for the long wait on the response... but I did put the sprockets on my bike and I love them.

I think I see the problem you ran into with the 13 tooth sprocket, but I fixed it with a little dremel work. ;)

The sprocket and the locking ring weren't a perfect fit, but they were close enough that I simply dremeled out the holes in the locking ring slightly. That took care of the problem.

My 22" rears are on backorder, but I wanted to try the new gearing with the 20's anyway. The new geaing rocks for trail riding! My top speed dropped from 71 to 64mph (according to my gps), but I found that I was almost never at WOT in 5th gear, so I'm not missing much. I may need to go to a 40 tooth in the rear when my 22" rear tires come in... I don't know if I will be happy losing my new-found torque. ;)
