This light is killing me. The screws keep walking out on me and i can't figure out what to do with it cause the light starts flopping up and down. Is there a way to disconnect it and remove it without cutting the wires off?

Hey, thanks for the replies. I think I'm gonna try to locktite the crap out of it first and if that doesn't work, the drill is coming out.

drill out the mounting holes on the quad and bolt it on! I had the same issue the very first day I took mine home. Bolted the light to the plastic and not a single problem

Don't know what to tell you other than I believe I will go with the drilling and bolting idea. This is the only problem I have had other than handle bar location, and that was just personal preference. I built a riser block and all is well now.

I bought the polaris replacement plastic ( which looks bad-ass) and went to put on my brake light, and suprise, nothing there. Must be 04' plastic. Just bent metal bracket on brake light, drilled hole into metal bracket that the seat locks into and ran a bolt and nut on there and not a problem.

The 04 kinda took a cheep ass way out. They mount the light to a rubber flappy piece and hang it from the airbox. basically your taillight flopps around the whole time rather than just falling off. It looks hella cheep the way they did it too. I didn't think about taking a picture while at the dealer today but I'll remember now that I got a camera phone.

Hey Doc, I see you have the hard rock air box mod. I am trying to pry the $$ out of my wifes death grip to get the WB pipe, K&N and box mod from them. Do you think this is a good move?

Well, to be honest I have:
hmf pipe
ceramic coated headers
hard rock air box
white bros. air filter
170 main jet

To put it best, the pipe is the first thing to do, the largest power and performance increase.

2nd the air-box mod is good, and frankly the best thing I can say about the airbox mod and filter is that the top-end smooths out.

before with the pipe and with out the airbox the top end broke up, jetting was perfect, but it was getting a vacuum back up after a long long straight away run.

now with the pipe and the airbox it has perfect power band and there are no points on the powerband where there are hick-ups.

I can say this, the difference is well worth it.

call hardrock, the prices are amazing.

for trailtech bars, 3 jets, a midrange needle, filter and airbox mod it was only like 200 shipped. plus i got filter oil and other odds and ends.

hope this helps.

I got a pic of the taillight on the 04 after I remembered I had a camera phone in my pocket when I stopped by the dealer today. Man they were freaked when they realized I was takin pictures. I should have my bluetooth adapter for it shortly so i can upload the pic.
