This question is for anyone that has installed the K&N Clamp on filter.
Where did you route the small hose that runs from the crankcase to the airbox? Does it need some kind of foam filter or something over the end to keep anything from getting in that hose and into the crankcase? Can sand, dirt or water actually get into that hose while riding? It concerns me a little that there is now an open hose that leads directly to the engine. I would like to hear what some of you people did with this hose. Thanks

I used a K&N 62-1010 filter ( I know Hot Seat sells them, and I would bet Hyper does too) I ran it straight up, to the rear bolt of the throttle cable cover on the carb. Got one slightly longer screw, and an adel clamp (aviation style padded/insulated aluminum clamp).

Chilly, I looked at the picture but i am not sure what i am looking at in that picture. I see the K&N air filter but not a crankcase filter. Also, which fuel gauge gas cap did you get to fit the predator.

Localbuzz: It's right behind th K&N, I put on a longer hose and bought a auto filter for it. I'm sure you have seen them at the part store. Orange with the pull out filters. I know they fit older chevy trucks. I did drill small holes in the filter/box bottom to let any water out. But have'nt got any in mine yet.
On the fuel cap, it's for a scrambler 400 yr2002. It fits only if you mod it.

ah, thanks i see now. I found a filter at my local autoparts store and its the washable kind. Worked out nicely. I posted a pick of it in my profile for anyone thats interested. I just temporarily attached it with a zip tie to the frame until i can get a hanger for it. Its hidden by the seat anyway. I am thinking i will probably wrap an outerwears around it for extra precaution. Thanks again guys for all your great advice on this one. Can't wait to get this thing in the sand this weekend. oh, and thanks for the info about the fuel gauge.

NJRipper: On the gas cap ? Look in
(Topic) Predator General - Gas cap vent line breaking. On the muffler end cap I cut it off with my band-saw, both sides of the cap. Used 2" eq tubing for the outlet. Got it from the muffler shop, had them bend it. Then I welded it on.
