I would like to know which slip-on to get. I know i can get the HMF for like $210 because there is a dealer on here but I don't know the price on the pure polaris. I dont really want to buy it from a dealer around here because the have high prices and out of state with no tax is nice. What are the DB levels on each?

I did some DB testing with the Pure Polaris pipe. With all eight plates and the spark aresstor it was 108dB. With all eight plates, the spark arrestor and the quiet core it was 100db. The legal limit in the oregon dunes is 93-96dB. The only way i could get it in that range was with 6 plates, the quiet core insert and the spark arrestor. That is not acceptable to me because in my opinion that makes the pipe to restrictive. I have heard that the HMF is even louder that the Pure Polaris. I have a friend who runs the HMF on his Cannondale and even with the quiet core insert he could not get it to the required levels.

I guess I will have to start running from the cops when they are on my srteet because I have people calling the cops on me for riding fairly slow w/o any exhaust. Plus one of my neighbors is really nosy and one of his hobbies is calling the cops.

I dont think that any of the aftermarket exhausts are within legal sound levels.

i really hope you are joking,no exhaust and running on the street? of course they would call the cops, some people work at night and try to sleep during the day too,

but is the purepolaris really that loud? it didnt seem to be so bad, not compared to the pro circuit t4 i had on my raptor, this bites, cause i dont like switching back and forth at all

I got the HMF with the quiet core insert and Its much quieter, you should check it out. then you can remove it when you race or ride elsewhere

Bass Man how much quieter is it w/ the insert? How much was the insert? I would definatly take it out when I race. Let them know I am COMING for some lunch!

i ordered it with the pipe from HMF. they say it is like 91 decibals and you still retain 95% of your horsepower gains you got with the pipe.
