Hey guys, I have about 10 hours or less on my Predator and I noticed a bit of a tap. My bro in law thinks it's the spark plug. As it idles I hear it, and it getts rapid right before a stall. I don't notice it under throttle, just at idle. Any suggetions? Thanks again guys.

It's sharper than a tap or a click. It's also not consistant. The time between taps totally varies.

it may be your compression release making the noise....i think at low rpms it may be kicking sometimes. just an idea

So this is pretty common for the predator? I notice it when it sits at idle. I got it a few weeks ago, but have not been ablr to ride it yet, I just had surgery and still recovering.. But at idle it is a bit on the noisey side. Like I said It doesnt even have 5 hrs on it yet. As long as others sound like this and they are not a quiet motor, I not going to worry..

Try a higher octane and see if it goes away. If its still there then I wouldnt worry about it.

The ultra thin valve cover makes valve train pretty noisy.
