I was racing in the first moto of the night the last race I was in and had a bit of a spill. My airbox broke out of my frame in a earlier race and my bike was killing mosquitos all around the track. I put it in the shop where it got a new top end and went to the clamp on, 165 main jet, and the white bros. pipe since it was getting worked on. I got the holeshot the first moto and ran first for 4 out of 5 laps. I cased a double and fell off my bike. The bike kind of just turned up on its side and flipped maybe just once. I turned the bike over and tried to make the last lap in third place but just before the finish line my battery had come out of its bracket and got banged up pretty bad. Just as soon as I was about to the finish line my battery got up against my frame and killed the bike...needless to say I got a DNF!!! We taped the battery up with black tape and rewired up some wires that got cut to race the second moto which I placed third in after someone sideswaped me from behind and turned me over. I got a new battery and that seemed to fix the problem.
I went riding that following sunday and after about 2 hours of riding I went back to crank my quad and it would not start. The battery had run down for some reason...nothing was left on. I had a battery pack back in my truck and went to get it to boost it off when I wanted to ride and figure the battery problem out later. Well, I messed around and hooked the battery pack up backwards and blowed the fuse I guess. I did not know that the quad did not have a normal fuse that I could replace....instead it has that black pouch sealed up that has a 20 amp metal fuse in it. There is also a diode with a two prong plug back there that tells your bike is in neutral...it is not a fuse. I replaced the 20 amp fuse and rewired the diode that I cut off and wired direct because I thought it might be a fuse. I put everything just like it supposed to be. Still I have no power up top...no neutral light, no lights, and no electric start. What else could have happened? My guess is something is blocking power to handlebars but don't know what. I hope it is not the cdi. Could it be the coil or the solenoid? Tring to save myself 50 dollars and hour if I can....Anybody got any ideas or solutions.
Thanks,
AARON.
