I've tried the K&N drop in, a uni drop in, a uni clamp on, and now Im using the K&N clamp on. The K&N clamp on works the best. The two drop ins were fine but without the airbox it seems to have quicker throttle response. The Uni clamp on caused to much turbulence with the airflow and the quad would burp when you would crack at the throttle. Another thing that worked pretty well if not better than the K&N clamp on was to remove the airbox and airbox lid from the intake snorkel that goes to the carb and putting on a oval Uni filter for a yami. The only problem I had with that was the snorkel would detach from the carb after going through a section of whoops. Jet the mother with whichever main jet you need according to your elevation and put a 50 pilot in it and you should be set. Your f'n quad will rip you a new one (not really but you get it
do you have a pipe on yours? im still running stock pipe, but i pulled out the spark arrestor. will i still get a bonus out of a clamp on filter? what # filter are you running,, the ru1770? thanks
Im have the HMF silencer. I am running the RU1770. Even if you dont have a silencer by putting on the filter and reject it you should get some type of gain. It should not pop anymore either once you get more airflow to it.
