My dealer has had my pred for a few weeks. Replaced caliper seals, cleaned the brake area, and replaced fluid. The brakes still drag. It's making the nose dive when jumping. I only get a 3/4 of a turn. Any other idea's would be great.

what pisses me off is that polaris claims they do not have a problem and the drag is normal.

This sounds simple, but check your rotors for true. If you have a sheet of glass you simply lay the rotors out flat on the glass and look for warps. High performance brakes have "floating" rotors to compensate for warpage which occurs from the heat generated by braking. Hope this helps you.

meyerz, I live in Dubuque and have not attempted to get the brake drag fixed. Which dealership did you take your quad to? My dealer doesn't seem to know much about the predator. I'm not sure how bad my brake drag is, I haven't been able to compare it with another. I haven't noticed it making my front end dive. If you want to compare them let me know.

Yep you're right. I have wondered if I should check out Midwest. Are they helpful? I've been looking for a place to ride around Dubuque since I moved here about a year ago. I normally ride around the Davenport area because I don't know of many other places besides Credit Island, Solon, Oskaloosa, Aledo and my folks farm. Tomorrow night I'm racing MX at the Rock Island County fair in East Moline along with two of my friends. Where is the best place to ride near Dubuque? I'd like to check out that 580 kit.

Hey guys, I also got my bike at Smiths, I have noticed that when I bring stuff up about the Pred they havent heard about it yet, but when I needed something they have been very helpfull about it! Midwest is also very good to work with. Midwest and Smiths are better to work with that Sindts IMO.

The best place to ride around Davenport is Coal Valley about 15 miles south. They have regular sanctioned races, but it cost over $100.00 to be a member and ride anytime. It's like the one in Byron Il, if you have ever seen it. You can ride near Credit Island which is on 61 south and Concord St. on the edge of Davenport near the river. It's not maintaned and can be rough and muddy. It's best for ice racing in the winter or in the summer when the water is low. Then there is Aledo which is 34 miles south of Davenport. It cost 10 bucks for a day. It's known for hare scrambles and has a small MX track. The trails are several miles long. Other than those I like Solon and the Badlands in Attica IN. Has anyone been to Waterloo? Fred55, I didn't get the message, but you might have been the guy I heard about at Smith Cycle, they other guy was at Oskaloosa when he must have bottomed out on the air box. He was a big guy. I go riding almost every weekend if you want to meet up somewhere. This weekend or the next I plan on checking out the Rathbun riding area. It's only 120 acres but I have some friends camping at the lake so I will make the trip. Let me know. Do you guys race or plan on racing this year?

Removed the shims and now get 1 1/2 turn instead of 3/4 turn, I guess it didn't get worse!

My service is msn messenger [email protected] I'm looking at some race info. I've heard the track in Coal Valley is more ATV friendly when compared to Byron. I won the race in East Moline last night though I can't brag too much there were only 6 quads and two were my friends! I'll post a picture when I get it scanned. I'll check with my day planner for Sunday; she isn't here right now :)
