I just ordered The CDI box($419), valve springs($64.95), head gasket($32.95), base gasket($5.99), spark plug($2.49), and the Wiseco big bore forged piston(104.9 mm....12.5:1 compression....558 cc)($138.06) from HPD. I have used their products before and believe in them. Daryl, the owner, just told me that they just had a "Fud Run"(the name of the race) where they are at and that their predator set up just like mine (except he has the race pipe and I don't YET) stompped on a Raptor 720 that has dominated that race for years (never been beaten). Hey, I like the sound of that. Now, Hot Seat Performance has a 600cc kit but I don't know about their products. I was going to order some stuff from them last year for my scrambler and they just didn't impress me. Don't know if this will help but, this is what I've done.

polaris 4 me: How ? is HPD is getting the 12.5.1 with a forged piston (104.9mm)
I.m getting lost. The way I see it the only way you can have that is with a mill job. Do they have a piston that can produce that. I would like to see a dyno on it. THANKS

Just a thought, why not try the stock bore high compression Wiseco. Took that HPD Pred (stock bore, high comp) for a rip, and you have all you can do to keep up with the shifting. Then if something should go bump in the night, you always have room to go big bore. Either way, you'll have snort, but just better longevity of your jug.

I called hpd today on thier high compression piston. Talked to Daryl, I would like to have a hole day with him. Thier site is going to get an up grade real soon. When you vist hpd site and look at there 12.5.1 piston, it read like you would need different cams. That's why I thought mill job. Wrong I was, he said you can use both pistons in a stock mach. The cams for it will be ajustable also. You talk to him and the blood sure gets to pumping.

If you think talking to him on the phone is fun, you should see what's being created in the shop. :D Like I stated on another post, the stock bore, high compression, HPD piped, HPD valve-springs, machine was kicking some serious butt this last weekend...Oh yea, an HPD curved CDI box was on it also.

I'll tell you what, Daryl(HPD) sure can talk your ear off. Half the time I don't know what the hell he is talking about, but it sure sounds good. Now you know why I always go to him first if I can. Mine is going to be set up just like that (except I'll have the big bore piston) and the pipe. I just don't know about paying $499 for the pipe. Well the only thing that sucks is I'll have to send my cylinder to HPD to have it bored and nickel plated ($225) and the turn around is about 2 weeks. Oh well, just hope everything works out good for the pred.

How about a low compression with a Turbo Charger. Probable run faster than the high comp engine.

How about the 560 kit? I live nearby HPD and think I'll stop by. An increase in compression and 12% more displacement has to make quite a difference even without anyother mods.

Anyone already have this?

I like to get some input on the 558 kit.I have hpds vortex and pipe. I did the carb mod, now how about this does it make that much of a differents.how about this new flywheel mod. I need all the power I can get, I ride in the sand and am sick of the banshee boys, I would love to spank a few of them.

just at Glamis for the T-Giving weekend with the 558 12.5:1, Vortex CDI HPD curves, carb mods, HPD pipe (modified), HPD valve springs, and nothing 4 stroke would come close. those pure drag bikes that get trucked in to the base of the hill spanked me, but lets see them dune all weekend long too, not going to happen. killed most banshees, but a few highly moded got me. just waiting on the cams for this thing and i am done.

I seen the Hot Seat Quad run MX this summer and it sure had alot of power. They guy riding it was supposed to be fast but he couldn't win races on it. He was missing alot of corner speed and suspension setup. Also stock tires. Nonetheless I noticed him because on an uphill jump he had considerably more power than any quad. I would have to believe Hot Seat claims as they were running stuff all summer and came up with the best air box mod. Look at any camshaft performance reference and you will see that if you could have more lift with the same duration this would be the best of both worlds. Extra lift won't sap low end torque like extra duration.

The reason I was wondering is bacause the local dealer has a set of 260i on the shelf.Hey what do thank about these guys shaving weight off the flywheel, keep in mind I ride in the sand only.Again I dont what a bike that the power comes on at 10000, if that was the case I would get another banshee.
