I just got the august issue of dirtwheels, and they talk about the dry weight of different atv's in comparison to the yfz450, and they claim the predator weighs 500 pounds dry. I cant understand why they dont like the predator so much.

Guess I'll have to go hit my PO Box tomorrow to see if my new issue has arrived.

Dirt Wheels is so full of it, it's not even funny anymore. I've concluded that they (and many of the other ATV mags) make most of the stuff up that they print, especially when it comes to comparison tests. They aren't the only ones to do this either; I suspect that many car magazines do it too. Basically, they decide to do a comparison test, and choose their quads or cars, and decide ahead of time who they want to win. Then they write it accordingly.

Predatorman7687 probably has it right too. Suzuki is paying off all the mags, and also ATV Television, to give all things Suzuki and Kawasaki rave reviews. Why else does the Z400, Eiger, and Vinson keep winning each of their respective class tests? The Z400 is underpowered and pretty much obsolete now that the YFZ450 and the Predator are out.
