After my race this weekend I got up the next morning and say that my airbox had broke completly and was laying on my swingarm. Has anybody else had this problem? So far I have had a broke airbox, broke set of rear plastic, broke radiator hanger, broke rear fender brackets, broke master link, broke nylon nets, and going to have to go into the engine this week for a valve and ring job. Some of these were my fault and just goes along with racing, but some of them are on polaris. Knock on wood my frame has not broke yet, or having trouble with ball joints ect.. that has been listed on here.

Would be interesting if everybody listed the things they had to fix whether it was you fault or not like I have above. We could then put all things that have broke on the predator in one thread.

Catch me later....

I also had 2 of the 3 airbox mounts break on me and my swing arm was hitting it and it cracked on the bottom, back and the top. My front plastic cracked at a mount and it was replaced...then a weeklater i found out about the airbox....my rear fenders are cracked from mud, my rear brackets by the rear grab bar where cracked and bent slightly down. Do you have a Im service....i can send you pics....

Also my rear shock mount has dug into the top of the rear shock.
Where my seat attaches at the tank....its getting worn.

BTW Underneith my front left lower a arm there is a VERY worn spot in the paint and I can feel its rubbing in the metal. they wont replace it bc its wear and tear...do u have ne suggestions? Thanks

Ok lets not turn this into a Predator bashing thread so just forget about the list of broken parts, becauses I know already of all the things that have broke on the predator from on here. It all comes down on how you ride, take care of your stuff, and even POLARIS. Just got to learn to deal with it I guess. I love the predator, it has won me some first place tropheys which I am very proud of. I race my predator almost every week mx style, so it takes a beating. Who is to say my raptor or when I get a yfz or 450 honda wont do the same thing. I am going to go to a clamp on filter with that splash guard I think to fix my airbox problem, thats what this thread is about anyway...

So then why did you ask? I'm not trying to bash the Predator or you, I just think that it is a little ridiculous for all these problems to happen to reasonably new machines. Also, we all paid good money for these machines and should not have to just deal with it.

Yes, exactly....I just don't want to "deal" with it. My old warrior never had any problems like this. I jumped that thing and bottomed more than I have with my Pred, and the only thing that broke was the front shocks....nothing like the plastic breaking, airbox falling out and being cracked etc never had happened to it. I dont want to deal with it, this stuff shouldnt be happening to a 4 month old machine. Im almost to the point of REALLY regretting not waiting a few months for a Yfz, but there is nothing I can do about it now, and Im looking for Polaris to step up, find and fix the problem and fix it on all of our preds.

I completly understand as you read my reply above....I guess I am just a middle man that understands both sides, when I get my bike fixed I might say oh well go buy another brand or keep on racing pred that I have.

Like I said before, the last thing that I want to do is be a jerk to you. I am just very upset with the quality of this machine. Yes, I do feel that their are some strong points to this machine, but the overall quality is poor in my opinion. Bolts should not just fall out of a machine. After my first ride, I was replacing bolts on this thing. It just makes me mad that we have come to the point where we just let things go and expect poor quality. I am by far not a rich man and work very hard for my money. I only expect to get good quality items for my money.

Clears is right they built an awsome machine with power and handling then they quickly stuck some plastic around it. Lets face it, who really likes the front plastic? Everything that has a platic connection breaks sooo easily. I wonder what the new plastics will be like? My bolts have been coming out which is frustrating and I didn't have that problem with my 400ex. I have heard of airboxes falling off, but the guy weighed a ton and the second guy didn't have his shocks setup right. I think they should have left some more room for the thing. I have thought about putting another rivet in the connection.

My shocks were set-up just fine, its just that the mounts broke on the airbox and that caused it to drop a few inches and then my swingarm hit it. I did stiffen the rear up a little bit now and probably will when changing air boxes. Because of the air boxes breaking I am now VERY seriously thinking about getting a slip on K&N filter. BTW Rudy, did you get my pm? and who told you about the air-boxes breaking?
