What are these air-box mods people are talking about? Can a person just make some holes in thier air-box, make them so that no "Foreign matter" gets in amd have more air-flow that way? Sorry for the dumb question :) Crypto

Airbox mod pretty much means adding holes to you airbox that where not there originaly depending on where you rid you have to worry about diff things where I live and ride I dont have much to worry about so I can just cut ahole in my airbox and i dont have to worry about mudd or water. I just ride in the dessert and dunes pretty muck no water. there are diff ways of letting in air through kits and things some people have cut holes in and cover the holes with pre filter material some people have kits that you cut or drill holes and the filters pop in or get screwed in. You need to be carefull not to mke to big of a hole or you are better off putting the clamp on air filter. I have a 2x5 hole in the front of my air box I would not go any bigger or you could lose torque .

How could torque be lost this way?

Also, if you add these modifications, do you still use the snorkel set-up?

Thanks for the info and input! Crypto

I am not sure about why maybe someone that nos better than me can say but I have seen it when on the dyno if they would lift my lid on the air box all the way it lost torque so they cut a small hole ran it on the dyno and lifted the lid and then would make the hole bigger till when they would start to lift the lit the torque would drop. and my opening is now 2x5 and my hole is part of where the snorkel was I will put pic in my profile.
