I just purchased this absolute lemon of a quad from what now seems like a weasel. Knowing it needed an axle, a stator, a valve cover gasket, and a new T in the coolant hoses, I gave him $2000 for it since used prices are ridiculous right now.
Everything I’ve had to replace:
  • Stator
  • Flywheel
  • stator cover
  • Valve cover
  • Rear axle (the nut was welded to the old one)
  • Head Gasket
  • All exhaust donuts/gaskets
  • Battery
  • Coolant line T
  • Coolant reservoir
  • Intake manifold boot

I’m sure there is more I can’t think of right now. So the problem is this. Before I tore this pig apart it it accelerated just fine. I put it back together and now it won’t accelerate worth a ****. It bogs down after about 1/4 throttle. If I feather it, I can get the RPM’s up and it sounds ok, but as it’s coming down it backfires. I thought maybe this was due to the carburetor needing cleaned so I took it apart, cleaned it, and replaced the o-rings. Put it all back together and no change. I’m at a loss. Anyone have any ideas?
