The Pit XC race, Oct 10, Terrell, Texas

Race number 3 on my new Outlaw and I'm really getting the feel of the quad. I had some new rubber on for this race and really likes it(GBC Race Rex) I got a nice start and ran 2nd in class for almost the first lap when that sickening feeling started coming from deep in my stomach. I pushed on trying to overcome it, drank my camelback nearly dry by the end of the second lap and then it hit me. Coming through the scoring chute to finish my second lap, having faded to 6th place, it all came up. Luckily I was able to get my helmet off fast enough, a spectator threw me a bottle of water, I chugged a little, put my helmet back on and soldiered on for another lap. I don't know why, I was in 12th place, dead last, by the time that lap was finished; not a good race. The Outlaw did great, the rider just plain sucked. Oh well, I'll get'em next time.

Enjoy the pics.

Getting pummeled by chipped cedar tree roost at the start.

On the MX part of the track.

Great pictures! That's a bummer to hear about your "issue". Looks like you have a solid wheel and tire combo now.

Thanks man, the tires and wheels seem to be very good. Those are DWT champion in a box wheels, the dual rear beadlock kind, 9x9 rears make the tires wider than 9x8 with a flatter tread and awesome hookup. The fronts push a little more than the front tire I was running, but I'll get it figured out, you can usually make some adjustments to shocks and air pressure and get the push dialed out.

Funny how few of the guys on this forum race their Outlaw. I'm the only Outlaw in my series, I think everyone is missing out on a really good race quad that isn't giving the Outlaw a chance. Oh well, I'll just keep-on keeping-on and put my Outlaw in the winner's circle before season end. Hopefully McClure can do the same.

Do you practice anywhere? Shreveport is about 4 hours from me. I dont have anyone around here to do any real riding.

Man, I don't get to practice much like I want to. I just can't bring myself to open it up on public trails. Mostly I get good practice on Saturday before our Sunday races. The series opens up the track to practice at 8am on Saturday mornings and you can go run laps until 2pm when the track is shut down to practice for the C class races at 2:30. I get to ride and open it up for short spurts to try different things, but the real endurance and setup practice must wait until race weekends. We have some places to ride around here, but they are mostly too easy and don't compare to an XC race course and are public two-way trails, and even with my finely-tuned cat-like racer's reflexes I fear a head-on collision with a beer drinkin redneck on a jacked-up Rancher. LOL.

I got a good place near my home MeridianOHVPark to practice just no one to do laps with. Thats cool you can run the track the day before. Never heard of that. Hopefully hrefnext year i can catch one or two of the ATVCCS races.
