i took my nephews riding for the first time ever on the predators and my outlaw. we hit up all the local small hill climbs. it was a blast. we had a few very small seat latch, wiring issues and a broken grab bar. none of them lasted more than a few minutes and only one wreck in 2 long days of riding. it was a total success. my outlaw is hands down the fastest. in a straight up, flat ground, drag race i can leave the hot seat 600 predator by 3 lengths every time and i just keep pulling away after 4th gear. our top speed in each gear is about the same the outlaw just gets there a bunch faster. we tried a ton of rolling races also. these results were exact for the hot seat 600 over the stock bore 500 predator. so i am about 6 lengths out in front of the 500 predator on my outlaw. we switched riders dozens of times. the outlaw always won, the 600 was always in second and the 500 predator was always last. we timed them all in the 300 foot and 800 foot drags. same results. on the hills and rough climbs is where the outlaw 525 irs really out shined the predators. drag racing up whooped out and rough hill climbs the outlaw would always jump out to a 3 to 4 length lead and continue to pull on the predators. no matter the rider. the steeper the hill, the more the torque of the 525 would leave the 600 predator. on the steepest longest hills i would leave the predator by 8 to 9 lengths. here are a few videos. we took about 75 videos and only about 10 are viewable. i need to teach my nephews how to use a camera next.

here is where i hit neutral on my second hill climb of the day. it doesn't look like it but the hill is nearly vertical here and i had to jump off yank the front to the ground and slide it all the way down the hill holding the front and rear brakes.

it is really hard to tell but these hills are really steep. here is a pretty good angle on how tall steep and whooped out they are. the trail up to this hill is about 46 inches wide. there is about a dozen spots where my 54 inch wide outlaw has one front or rear wheel clear off the edge it is a bit nerve racking, but fun.

Nice write up and videos Leo!
Now it's time to drill you with questions... Do you have the torque range modifier taken out of the 600's exhaust? At what air/fuel ratio do you have everything set at? What intake setup is on the 600 now? How much of a difference would you think swapping out the heavy HD's on the 600 would make? How much difference did you see when you switched riders? It shouldn't have been the exact same every time because of someone's weight difference. haha Well, that's all for now. Glad you guys had fun!

i have not pulled the core out of the pipe yet or changed to lighter tires that is for the next ride.
i have them set to as close to 13.5 as i could get them tuned which is very close on all of them. from idle to the rev limiter. i have the um aluminum air box on it, it has a huge k&n on it with a prefilter outerware. next time we go riding we are going to try a clamp on filter, take out the core of the iron man pipe and use maxxis razor pr's like the other 2. i think the times will be closer. the further we race or the steeper the hill the more the outlaw pulls away. the predator engine can not overcome the torque the outlaw makes. i have 14/39 gearing on the outlaw, 14/38 on the hot seat 600, and 14/38 on the predator 500. the outlaw hits exactly 80 mph. the hot seat 600 hits 77, the 500 predator hits 74 mph. my outlaw is not stock. neither is the hot seat 600. even the stock bore 500 has a pipe filter, and is jetted to rip so it is not stock. they all run great. it was almost always the same. i am a faster drag racer. i just have way more experience on when to shift, how to take off and even just when to lean forward or when to lean back. when i was on the outlaw i would pull the 600 predator by 3 or 4 lengths in a 600 foot drag. when we switched and i was on the 600 predator my nephew would only beat me by 1 to 2 lengths in 600 feet on my outlaw but he still beat me every time. in the 300 foot drags my average time on the outlaw was 5 seconds flat. the 600 hot seat predator average was 5.5 seconds. the 500 predator was 5.75. we did not average the times when i wheelied, or just started poorly. we only used the times when i got a nice clean start. in the 300 foot drags each tenth was equal to about one length. next time out we will try a few more variations on intakes pipes and tires. i will report back then. when listening to the outlaw and the predator climbing hills today it was obvious most hills could only be pulled in second on the outlaw and the revs would build slowly. i was able to pull the same hills in 3rd and 4th and the revs build fast. it is a big difference. all of them rip though. a few lengths and a few tenths only matter if you are purely in it to win it. we are just out to ride and have a blast. we rode with a guy on a yz250 and a ktm125 dirtbike today and those poor guys ate our dust on every single hill out there. they still had a bunch of fun as did we.

Thanks Leo. That's about what I expected. Looking forward to your findings when switching out parts. I also keep forgetting that you have that bored carb and CDI. That really helps you out since I thought the two were closer in acceleration but thought the Predator was faster on top end.

yeah i have the 41.6mm bored carb, 11,000 rpm rev limiter, with advanced timing curves, and hotcams. it is not comparing it to a stock 525 outlaw. it is a modded outlaw 525 and a modded predator.
