Hi, I have a Predator TLD and have noticed a top end rattle, I don't think it is cam chain as it really only sound at the top. Is there a common problem with the decompression cam or is it just a case of cover off to see what may be there.
It only happens when the engine gets warm, not from cold start. Cheers |

that is usually a worn decomp. even the brand new decomp mechanisms can sound like a top end tick. if it is really loud on the right hand side it might be a stretched timing chain but if like you said it is only up at the top it is more than likely the decomp. if it was my machine and it is a new noise i would pull the valve cover and check the valve clearances. see if the decomp is extra floppy and check the timing chain if it is loose replace it.
