Yep all is still a go here. I'm trying to find out when the guys from Reno will get into town on Friday. I'll get there right as the motel starts allowing check-ins so I can drop off my stuff. It's a 3-hour drive for me so I figure I'll leave Salem between 7-8 AM.

Just got back 7-7-10 for coos bay. it is a blast!!!! but then again so are the other areas. all 3 have something to offer. YOU WILL HAVE A BLAST!!!! We stay at the koa north of north bend. Nice facilities, hot showers, store, kitchen and easy dune access. go to youtube and type in all three. there are plenty of videos to help you make up your mind. You can hit all three in a three day trip no problem. Have fun bro

Two more days! I'm hitting the road around 7 AM on Friday, will roll into town around 10 AM. Chuck and Doug are due in around noon, and James (from RinconRiders.com) between 11-12 on Saturday, just for the day.

I have fresh gas in my Outlaw... drained the tank completely and refilled it. BTW, it took 3.75 gal. Also has fresh oil and fresh jetting for sea level. Now I just have to remember to pack a dune flag.

BTW, what's the day parking like? Any fees? Any special passes/permits needed for riding? My Montana reg on the quad is reciprocal with Oregon so I'm good that far.. but anything else needed?

Here's a photo from today.. notice it was a little windy.

We're heading to Coos Bay tomorrow. We covered the entire area here in 2-1/2 hours, so we thought we would try the other area too.

**** , looks like great weather. Coos Bay is my favorite place of all the Oregon dunes. I like to ride out of Horsfall. Horsfall Beach is cool because it's right on the beach but it is pretty flat and you have to ride a bit to get to the good stuff. There is alot of good terrain to ride right out of the parking lot at Horsfall. It's usually windy down there too. We have a group site at Winchester next weekend , the 23rd - 25th.Let me know if your still in town. Those group sites are huge so we will have plenty of room. Tear it up & have fun Man!!!

We're home!

Well for me it was easy... I was home by noon. Chuck and Doug got back to Reno around 6 pm.

We went to Coos Bay (Spinreel area) yesterday. Wow... a much larger area that is a LOT more fun than the Winchester Bay area. Sure the dunes are taller/steeper at Winchester (Umpqua), but the Spinreel/Horsfall area is way more fun.

Had it not been 51 deg. this morning on my way north when I checked out both of the Florence area parking lots, I might have unloaded and ridden a little by myself, but I guess next time we'll have to check that area out too.

But yesterday we rode something like 52 miles, including riding the entire length of the beach, at nearly 60 mph. No rangers around so we let 'er rip! Chuck got some cool photos and video of us playing around in the surf, I hope they came out. He said he got one of me sliding sideways in the water, throwing water everywhere. I sure hope so... I got drenched!

Chuck declared yesterday as the most fun he's ever hand dune riding. Wow, that's saying a lot. Now I just need to get him to Glamis, _my_ favorite dune location.
