I have an 08 Outlaw 525 IRS that I've been having problems with lately. For some reason when we tried starting it, it seemed like the starter didn't have enough power to turn over the engine. We checked the decompression valve and replaced the battery, starter, voltage regulator, and starter solenoid. That seemed to have fixed it, but we ran into another problem. The exhaust got red hot when we withing minutes of starting it. So we redid our jetting and that solved the problem.
So yesterday was a nice, sunny, 50 some degree day, perfect for riding in the middle of winter. So I was outside riding in the back yard (We have some land to ride on) and I accidentally killed it, tried to start it, and it did the same thing as before, not enough power to turn over. I have no clue what to do now. Any help? |

maybe the valves need adjusting and are too tight? here is a link to a thread that may help.
