Predator no charge

I have an 04 predator, it sat for a couple years in college and I went to start riding again and charged up the battery and it fired right up and I rode it around the house for a bit and the battery died so I got a new one for it and it does the same thing, It's not charging and I was wondering if someone had a schematic to look at and where to check voltages. I used to have the pdf manual but not anymore. Any help would be appreciated thank you.

well i do not have voltages for you but i would highly recommend checking the wires running into and out of your rectifier/regulator it is a small finned little box back by your battery about 2.5 inches x 2.5 inches x 1 inch thick. if all the wires are good and none are broke i would try replacing the rectifier. that is a common thing to fail on the predator. i have had 3 of them burn up on the 5 predators i have owned over the years. usually if the battery is good and all your grounds and wiring is good, all connections are clean and tight then that is what it is. hope you get it figured out.

Hey thanks I looked over all the wires today and cleaned carb out and switched plastics back to the black race cut ones I got from you. Howd that little 250 trail boss work out for you?

it worked out great kyle. i rode it around for about a year, put matching new tires on it and sold it to a friend who needed a 4x4. he has been riding it ever since. i think he replaced the 4x4 drive gear and the top end on the engine about a year after i sold it to him but he is still happy with it. you still riding the predator huh?

Yeah got it out and going been busy with college at wyotech then long hours of work last two years but now got a gf that has a rubicon and likes wheelin too so we're goin before she gets to big, got a bun in the oven lol. How u been

good job on the hard work in school and work. keep it up for another 70 years then you can either retire or die of old age. seriously though it is nice to hear you are keeping your nose tot he grind stone. we just had our 4th little kid in may. congrats on the new baby. you do know what causes that, right young man?!

Yeah I know, forgot to wrap my party favor. Found out yesterday that she miscarried after her doctors appointment which kind of sucks I guess but it's kinda good to, cuz I'm a 20 year old still trying to get on my feet and figure out where to go. Back on subject, I ordered a rectifier last night off ebay with free 2 day shipping for less than half what the dealers want for one around here so hopefully it comes in thursday or friday.

looks sweet ill have to register, you know anyone with a spare subframe laying around? my grab bar got busted off and i can't get the bolts out so i just drilled through and put bolts through but its starting to get some cracks and beat up and it'd be nice to find one in better condition
