Ok, so I live in Northwest Indiana. Porter County to be exact. It's one of the very few counties in my state that requires an emission test in order to get your license plates.

Well I took my truck in today (2007 Dodge Ram 4x4) and it failed the emissions test. Not because it was putting off bad emissions, but because the "check engine" light was on! It printed off 3 different codes.

So...no license plates for me until I can get it fixed. Took it to the shop and they wanted $450 to make repairs to a truck that is running perfect and not polluting! Oh, did I mention we have several steel mills in the area AND 50 billion major highways that come through that put off wayy more emissions than my truck? I can guarantee the cars and semi's passing through put off more emissions than the vehicles that actually live in this area...oh and don't forget about the steel mills!

What a crock of #*$*&&@~!

sorry to hear that. that is a load of crap. i had to deal with the smog laws in california, i know what i a headache that can be. i was so glad to get out of there. i am never going back.

What are the codes its showing ???

you should goto an auto zone or something have them clear the codes then go back and have it checked. most times you will get a day or two before the code will pop up again.

The problem with that is I've already been tested so they know the codes came up. It's on record now. I have to have asigned paper by the repair shop that the items were fixed.

I don't remember the codes but it ended up being an oil pressure switch?? and some valve.

Ehh...took the quad into the Honda shop and they ended up finding part of the starter clutch damaged. Wanted $400 to fix. I called the builder and he flipped and told me not to let them do it. So...I paid them their $80 to diagnose it and it's sitting at home still broken. Builder has the starter clutch parts I need and has offered to give them to us free of charge. We are shipping the flywheel to him and when it comes back we will put it together and cross our fingers.
