Most of you know that I traded my 07 Outlaw 525LE IRS for Leo's 2008 RZR. The transmission input shaft was bent and the case was broken. I bought a new case and shaft for it. I also went ahead and welded the output gear to the pinion shaft which is inside the transfer part of the Transmision. This shaft has been known to break where the splines start for the gear. Iam installing Holtz motor mounts and a Fabtech frame gusset kit.
All tore apart The new and old input shafts Waiting for the the pinion shaft and gear to get welded. The pinion shaft and output gear The pinion shaft and output gear welded All put back together The Holtz Motor Mounts

If you notice the last picture, Ican now keep up online in the garage with the laptop I got off my buddy. It is wireless. It was helpful to figure out where the bolts went since they are color coded and I had pictures on facebook.
Thanks ATV4Play

Cool job as usual SS. You'll no doubt innovate new stuff that will help others.
Gotta add, We rode Vermont today. Rocky and slow trails. An older couple rode a Razr.I was really impressed how well it did. Around tight gates and tight corners, Steep rocky twisting downhills. Steep off camber stuff. No problem for the Razr. There was one spot, where we had to climb sideways outta a " V ", kinda like crossing a very high, steep berm sideways while climbing outta a V. I thought for a second the Razr might have trouble, but it did fine. No roll over issues. Impressed. This Razr couple was 60ish and he had suffered a stroke before, even walked unstable. But he was able to confidently get through some rocky steep or tilted stuff. No small accomplishment. Wecrawled down a loooong fairly steep downhill that was like driving down a creek bed. My Ol lady's rear wheels where lifting up a couple times. She needs to work on her body english. Any way, the Razrcrawled right down it. Very stable. My old Lady did really well too. Her Bad Kitty really comes through for her. Not kidding. She goes up and over, down more BS than they thought we could handle. She feels safe enough she doesn't even get rattled or scared. They, not theRazr couple but the other4x4 Ute riders, kept expecting us to have trouble. They were surprised. Guess they never rode with an Outlaw or Bad Kitty sport quad before. Oh yea, the local Polaris dealer showed up.I asked him if he sold many Outlaws....He joked...." a few, 3-4. This is Vermont. If they can't thow a deer over it, they're not interested in it." Bambi was by far the main cuisine today. Jerky, sausage, canned meat...This was Vermont. Tangent over, just needed a place to puta Razr report.

What model Razr is this Jeff? Do they really only have 34ish HP?
I've been checkin out some you tube Razr videos. They're pretty impressive. agile, stable, They climbup some pretty steep creek banks and out of the holes at Moab! Can Am claims 85 Hp on their 1000 but it's not as stable as the Razor. FWIW, Dirt " something " reveiwed the Can Am Commander and said straight up it's not a RazrS Killer.I'ld trade Commander'sHP for the Razr'shandling and stability. Would suck to roll over and be stuck against trees on the steep hill side or not be able to climb stuff. There's a video of an Alpha Turbo Razr that looks pretty quick.Another guy saidRazrs need a Commander V and Mapping and something else. Turbo would be cool too. The 09 Razr S is freekin Boss looking. One sharp ride. That 60 inch width could be problematic in the woods around here though.

The 800cc motor in the RZR and SP800 makes around 50-52 hp from what I've read. Now that's crank hp, not wheel hp. I think the 800 HO makes another 4-5 on top of that.
The silver RZR in that picture is the RZR S. It's $4000 more than a regular RZR because it has that fancy FOX suspension, rezzy shocks, wider control arms, etc. The newer RZR S models have the 800 HO, whereas the regular RZR has the regular 800. We're all waiting for them to put the 850 in them since it makes 70 hp. Heck, I've been hearing rumors for several years that Polaris has a 995cc motor just waiting to go into the RZR and Sportsman line. Maybe it'll happen in 2012. Rob

I am not sur ehow much torque the frame can handle on these things. I have heard many stories about them breaking a lot so Iam doing what I can to prevent it.
Mine is a standard 2008 RZR. What is the difference between the HO800 and the standard 800? I will make the changes if I need to. I think it is more of the clutch tuning than anything. If the top end needs replaced I will go bigger. There is not much you can do to the motors without crank modifications. The cranks do not like going over 6k rpm. Iplan on putting my Outlaw front Custom axis shocks on the rear. Who knows what I will have up front.....maybe try some Fox floats off a Honda.
