So, you are making "folded" type joint. This sounds very interesting. Keep us posted, and I may be interested when in production. Pictures and specs would be great when you are ready. Thanks.

Yeah.. No problem.
For this day I have over 500 miles on that folding boots and NOTHING.
Funny thing... you don't have to remove balls carrier to put on new rubber set

I had the same problem with finding the ring and came to the conclusion you have to purchase a complete axle assembly just to get one of those stupid rings. I think that it might work without them, I just didn't want to try it myself lol. I called numerous places, on being American Ring and Tool, and they wouldnt have anything to do with me unless I placed a huge order and set up an accout with them.

I have had no problems with the rear boots except the two times that I lost the chain. On the other hand, it would be nice to have a boot that is easier to change. I run no skid plates except the stock ones and race XC where you pretty much get everything and have never punctured a boot.

How in the world did you guys install the new boots? I've tried and tried and I cannot get the axle boot in the housing far enough to install the snap ring. Are there any tools or certain ways I need to do this? Cuz I'm almost fed up with this outlaw

I assume you mean step 19? You have to make sure that the housing surface is really clean, and also the groove is all cleaned out!

Do not do the small one first or it is nearly impossible to do the snap ring.

Well we finally got it, turns out my dad did not remove the ring in the boot and it was still in the housing which wouldn't allow enough room to install the new one

Thanks for this how-to. I just redid mine last night. It took about two hours. This info was very helpful, and saved me about 200 dollars. That's how much the stealership wanted to do it. Thanks again. Cheers
